This is the old path connecting the village of Makrirachi to Chania and Volos. It was reopened and signed in 2015. Walking time 3,5 h, total time 4 h. Starting from hotel Pileas at Hania, we climb down a beautiful cobblestone path (kalderimi) to the chapel of Profitis Elias (1,5 h, this section is common with the route Hania-Zagora), then on earth track to Agii Anargiri chapel (1,5 h) and then on path-kalderimi down to the village square (1 h) (food and drink at the square). We can return to Hania and Volos with the afternoon bus at 17.15 or we can continue on asphalt from the main church down to the beaches of Agii Saranda and Horefto.
