The Kitsos Makris Folklore Center
The Kitsos Makris Folklore Center is housed in the residence of the folklore artist (1917-1988), at 38 Kitsos Makris Street, which, at his own request, was bequeathed to the University of Thessaly after his death.
In 1997 it was annexed to the Library & Information Center of the University of Thessaly with the main aim of providing organized access to the Kitsos Makris collection, the person who dedicated his life to Greek folk art and folklore. It includes the folklore collection of the eminent researcher as well as unique exhibits, one of which is his library, consisting of 4,000 volumes and his archive, with 2,500 slides and 4,000 photographs.
