"Provoles" started in 1983 by the Municipality of N. Ionia with the initiative of a small group of film lovers of our city. Venue of the event hall was City Hall and the duration of film season was 4-5 months.

In the period 1986-1987 they were transferred to the LYRIKO cinema, which was later transformed into a supermarket following the fate of most theaters in the country. Then the "Cinema Community" association is established, which assumes all the responsibility and care.

The following year the screenings return to the City Hall and from 1988 they pass to the newly established Cultural Organization of the Municipality.

From the winter of 2002 they are transferred to the hospitable hall of Metaxourgeio and are occasionally integrated in the Cultural Organization of the Municipality of N. Ionia, in the "Public Benefit Municipal Enterprise IONIA" and finally with Kallikratis in the Municipal Organization of Child Education, Sports and Culture - DI.PE. ΘΕ. of the Municipality of Volos (DOEPAP - DI.PE.THE.).
